the book upstate is a really good book. Antonio's (the main character) father used to beat on his mother and come home drunk. So Antonio got tired of seeing his father beat on his mother and he got upset and started to stab his father with a butcher knife. they hid the body for about 2 weeks and the cops came to their apartment and Antonio turned himself in to the police. but Antonio and his girlfriend wrote letters back and forth to each other the whole time he was in jail. they got engaged and everything. when Antonios mother and little brothers came to see him his girlfriend natisha would come too
