The Reader

The reader was an amazing novel to read. The setting is postwar germany in 1954. A young teen, Michael, comes down with a terrible illness and gets sick on the way home from school. He is resuced and helped by a much older women, Hanna. In time Hanna becomes his lover. Despite their over 15 year age difference, they happen to fall in love. Just as soon as she appears, Hanna dissapears. Years later Michael encounters her again during law school. He is sitting in on a trial. A trial in which Hanna is convicted of a horrible crime. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is fill with mystery, suspense, and romance. I reccomend it for everyone.
