Deadline By Chris Crutcher

This is a heart-touching novel of a young boy who only has one year left to live, and know's it. After diagnosed with a terminal blood disease, Ben refuses treatment and chooses to live the rest of his year to the fullest. He also chooses to keep this saddening news to himself. He turns out for football for the first time, builds up the courage to ask out the girl of his dreams, finds the strength to stand up for what he believes in, and befriends a man who has nothing left to live for. In the end, he takes the route of honesty and comes clean to everyone. And in the end, that year was the best year of his life.

I had to read Deadline for an english class and I enjoyed it. It was interesting to read.

I enjoyed reading this book but I did find a down fall. Some of the foul language used in this book was over the top and completely unnecessary. I think that you can write a book for teenagers without using that much foul language.
