The Golden Compass- Philip Pullman-- Amanda Knotts

This book was wonderful and I enjoyed it very much. It's about a young girl who gets swept up in between the war between her mother's work and her father's. She ends up following her father into another world completely different to her own and, with her daemon, starts a wonderful adventure.
